Teachers
You learn from a person, not from a school.
Six teachers, one for each instrument. In the trial lesson you sit with exactly the person you would have your lessons with afterwards. So who ends up with whom is not settled by a timetable in the background.
-
Miriam Achleitner
Piano, early musical education
She has taught piano for eleven years, six of them at Tonleiter. With children she likes to start without sheet music and work from songs they already know. With adults she asks in the first minute which piece should be waiting at the end, and builds the lessons backwards from there.
Teaches Tuesday to Friday, afternoons and evenings.
-
Lukas Kirchmair
Guitar, electric bass
He has played in bands since school and has taught for nine years, five of them at Tonleiter. He starts with the song that brought someone here and builds the chords around it. With children only the right hand comes first: rhythm before chords.
Teaches Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, afternoons and evenings.
-
Veronika Trenkwalder
Violin, viola
She starts children without sheet music and without the left hand: the bow first, a good tone on open strings first. The fingers come once the bow stroke holds. With adults she works from the first lesson on the piece they brought along, and takes the hard bars one at a time.
Teaches Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, afternoons and evenings.
-
Simon Hörtnagl
Drums, percussion
He has taught for eight years and plays in two bands in the Oberland. Every first lesson starts on the kit and not on a practice pad, because nobody comes here for a rubber cushion. With adults he asks for three songs they want to play along to and builds the lessons out of them.
Teaches Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, afternoons and evenings.
-
Katharina Brunnthaler
Flute, recorder
She has played in the village band since school and has taught for nine years. Every lesson opens with five minutes on the head joint alone, even with advanced players, because that is where a fault shows up first. With children she works through pictures instead of anatomy: the air should move a candle at the other end of the room, not blow it out.
Teaches Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, afternoons and evenings.
-
Georg Falkner
Trumpet, wind ensemble
He has played in a brass band in the valley for thirty years and teaches the way it is needed there: a clean embouchure, steady counting, pieces you can join in with on a Sunday. Anyone who would rather head towards jazz gets jazz. The first weeks run on the mouthpiece alone, which is already loud enough for a flat.
Teaches Tuesday and Thursday, evenings.

Who sits with whom
- You choose
- Each instrument here has one teacher, so the choice comes with the instrument. For piano and guitar it happens that two times are free on the same day and you take the one that suits you better.
- If it does not fit
- Say so after the trial lesson. That is what it is for and it costs nothing. Nothing is signed up until you sign.
- If we cancel
- If a lesson falls through on our side, it is made up or credited. How that is worked out is on the price page.
The first lesson isthere to try things out.
30 minutes on the real instrument, with the person from this list. Free, and afterwards nothing is agreed.
