The starting point was the PDF datasheet of a gear pump. Six pages of tables. Nobody opens something like that voluntarily.
Out of it came a device you take completely apart in the browser: eighteen parts, housing, gears. You adjust speed, viscosity and back pressure, and flow rate, efficiency and shaft power are calculated live as you do. It does not show that it calculates. It calculates.

When the product has an inside. When there are variants you want to compare. When your customer needs to know whether something fits or what it does under load.
I advise against it
For a hotel, a restaurant, a tax adviser. There 3D is decoration: it costs money and load time and does nobody any good.
Your documents
CAD file, datasheet, exploded drawing or manual. What there is is usually enough.
The one question
Which question should the model answer? Everything follows from that, not from the looks.
