About this model
A chunky toy tugboat of no particular ship or company: a navy hull with twelve cream tyre fenders hanging round it on short ropes, cream portholes, two anchors at the bow and a big half-round fender at the bow and the stern, and above it a cream deckhouse with navy doors, life rings and portholes. On top sits the wheelhouse: navy walls under a roof that overhangs them, three windows on every side over a navy band, a cream funnel with a navy band and a mast on the roof. Inside the wheelhouse a cream wall is lit from behind, so at night the boat stays dark and only the wheelhouse glows, and behind the middle front window the ship's wheel stands dark against the light. It is a static desk ornament, not a floating boat, and a square hull like this can also read as a toy ferry. Up to four laptop blades stand in a row in the hull. Its walls are solid, so from outside you never see a computer board; the tyres, portholes and fenders are glued on. Air comes in through the slatted vents in the plinth and leaves through the wheelhouse windows. You pick 2, 3 or 4 computers and the model stays the same size: 0.57 x 0.50 m, 95 cm tall to the top of the mast.
Worth knowing
About 10.4 kg of filament with two computers and 12.2 kg with four (roughly 350 to 410 hours on a fast printer), in two colours: navy for the hull, the wheelhouse, the doors, life rings, the deckhouse portholes, the bands and the ship's wheel, and cream for the deckhouse, the roof plate, the wheelhouse's inner wall, the tyres, the hull portholes, anchors, fenders, the funnel and the mast. The wheelhouse is printed in nine cells with a thin roof skin and glued together, and the mast is a thin flat part, so handle it with care. It needs two 1 m LED strips, one for each half of the liner. The boat is static, a desk ornament that does not float. The tyres, fenders and the mast are decoration, never lift or push the boat by them. The wheelhouse (plate, cells, inner wall, band, funnel, mast and wheel glued into one) is not glued down because it is the way in; lift it straight up with both hands under the edge of its roof, never by the funnel or the mast.

Budget black PETG.
Drives: every board keeps the drive its laptop came with (system only), so there is nothing to buy. A board bought without one needs a 256 GB M.2 2280 drive (approx. €56). Optional, not in the total: one shared disk of 1 TB or more for the render manager's shared folder, on one laptop board, in its own M.2 slot, or in a USB case (approx. €19) on the base floor. Reuse an old one, or buy a 1 TB M.2 2280 drive for approx. €136–146. Drive prices are approximate (October 2026): check before buying.

To print it at this size: 12.2 kg of PETG. Add 10% for waste and test pieces and that is 14 spools of 1 kg, approx. €196–266 with the PETG below (the shopping list above already includes filament). Print time, estimated: about 655 h with the standard 0.4 mm nozzle (Ender-3 V3 SE class), 407 h with a 0.6 mm nozzle.
Print times are slicer estimates (OrcaSlicer) and may vary by ±15 %.
