About this model
A generic toy crystal cluster, like a big painted toy stone, not a copy of any real specimen, product or character. The cluster itself is the model: a round grey rock with broken, faceted sides, widest low down and drawn in to a short collar at the top. Sixteen hexagonal amethyst crystals with pointed tips grow out of it: eight round its shoulder, leaning outwards, and eight lower on its sides. Inside the collar sits a deep purple crystal bed (the cap), and on it five pale translucent crystals, the biggest in the middle. Inside the rock sits the case with up to four laptop boards, hidden: no board can be seen from outside. The crystal bed is the lid: lift it out to reach the boards. The air comes in under the rock and leaves through six round windows in the crystal bed, up between the crystals; at night the five crystals on top glow, lit from inside.
Worth knowing
About 10.5 kg of filament with two computers and 12.3 kg with four (roughly 335 to 393 hours on a fast printer), in five colours: stone grey for the rock and the spacers; white for the case walls (hidden inside), the roof plate, the inner wall, the window linings and the floor ring; deep purple for the crystal bed, its flange and the deck ring; amethyst purple for the sixteen outer crystals; translucent lilac PETG for the five crystals on top (it must let light through). The rock's skin is 0.6 mm thick: print it with two 0.3 mm lines or one 0.6 mm line. The big shoulder crystals print 24.1 cm high: check your printer's height first.

Budget black PETG.
Drives: every board keeps the drive its laptop came with (system only), so there is nothing to buy. A board bought without one needs a 256 GB M.2 2280 drive (approx. €56). Optional, not in the total: one shared disk of 1 TB or more for the render manager's shared folder, on one laptop board, in its own M.2 slot, or in a USB case (approx. €19) on the base floor. Reuse an old one, or buy a 1 TB M.2 2280 drive for approx. €136–146. Drive prices are approximate (October 2026): check before buying.

To print it at this size: 12.3 kg of PETG. Add 10% for waste and test pieces and that is 14 spools of 1 kg, approx. €196–266 with the PETG below (the shopping list above already includes filament). Print time, estimated: about 626 h with the standard 0.4 mm nozzle (Ender-3 V3 SE class), 393 h with a 0.6 mm nozzle.
