About this model
A medieval castle gate, not any particular castle: two round towers with battlements on corbels, an arched gate between them with its portcullis half down, and a walkway over the gate with a small flag turret on it. The stone courses, the arch stones and the arrow slits are part of the print. Each tower holds up to two laptop blades, back to back. The tower walls are solid, so from outside you see stone, never a board. Air comes in under the portcullis, drops through the lattice floor of the gate passage into the hollow base, rises into the towers past each board and leaves through the cross-shaped slits near the top and the lattice platform on each tower. At night a USB LED strip under the passage ceiling lights the gate, and one strip in each tower top makes the cross slits glow. You pick 2, 3 or 4 computers and the castle stays the same size: 0.90 m tall with the flag, 0.93 m wide, 0.39 m deep. One 260 W supply runs everything. To swap a blade you lift the platform off its tower and pull the blade straight up.
Worth knowing
About 12.5 kg of filament with two computers and 14.6 kg with four (roughly 420 to 490 hours on a fast printer). The towers are the same with two computers as with four, so most of the filament goes into the shell either way. The arrow slits low on the towers are only cut in, because the wall in front of the boards stays solid; only the cross slits near the top glow. The tower walls carry the top; the blades only stand in their shoes. The tower platforms rest on their ledge, held by their weight, not glued, because they are the way in. The flag prints in any second colour you like.

Budget black PETG.
Drives: every board keeps the drive its laptop came with (system only), so there is nothing to buy. A board bought without one needs a 256 GB M.2 2280 drive (approx. €56). Optional, not in the total: one shared disk of 1 TB or more for the render manager's shared folder, on one laptop board, in its own M.2 slot, or in a USB case (approx. €19) on the base floor. Reuse an old one, or buy a 1 TB M.2 2280 drive for approx. €136–146. Drive prices are approximate (October 2026): check before buying.

To print it at this size: 14.6 kg of PETG. Add 10% for waste and test pieces and that is 17 spools of 1 kg, approx. €238–323 with the PETG below (the shopping list above already includes filament). Print time, estimated: about 787 h with the standard 0.4 mm nozzle (Ender-3 V3 SE class), 488 h with a 0.6 mm nozzle.
Print times are slicer estimates (OrcaSlicer) and may vary by ±15 %.
