About this model
A generic toy birthday cake, like a big party cake made as a toy, not a copy of any real cake, product or character, with no lettering. The cake itself is the model: a round chocolate lower tier on a white cake board, with a white frosting band and a flat ledge on top, and a smaller round chocolate upper tier with a white frosting top. Thick white drips run down both tier edges, piped kisses ring the ledge and the top edge, a red cherry sits in the middle and four fat pink candles stand on top with yellow flames. Inside the lower tier sits the case with up to four laptop boards, hidden: no board can be seen from outside. The upper tier is the hatch: lift it off to reach the boards. The air comes in under the cake board and leaves through five small oval windows in the front of the upper tier; at night the windows glow and the light inside the upper tier shines up through the candles into the translucent flames.
Worth knowing
About 10.6 kg of filament with two computers and 12.3 kg with four (roughly 337 to 396 hours on a fast printer), in four colours: chocolate brown for the two tier drums, the flange and the spacers; white for the cake board, the frosting bands, the ledge, the drips, the kisses, the case walls (hidden inside), the roof plate, the inner wall, the window linings and the floor ring; pink-red for the candles and the cherry; translucent yellow PETG for the flames. The drips, kisses, candles, flames and the cherry are thin glued decoration (1 to 1.2 mm walls): never lift the cake by the candles or the top tier's edge.

Budget black PETG.
Drives: every board keeps the drive its laptop came with (system only), so there is nothing to buy. A board bought without one needs a 256 GB M.2 2280 drive (approx. €56). Optional, not in the total: one shared disk of 1 TB or more for the render manager's shared folder, on one laptop board, in its own M.2 slot, or in a USB case (approx. €19) on the base floor. Reuse an old one, or buy a 1 TB M.2 2280 drive for approx. €136–146. Drive prices are approximate (October 2026): check before buying.
No printer yet?
To print it at this size: 12.3 kg of PETG. Add 10% for waste and test pieces and that is 14 spools of 1 kg, approx. €196–266 with the PETG below (the shopping list above already includes filament). Print time, estimated: about 631 h with the standard 0.4 mm nozzle (Ender-3 V3 SE class), 396 h with a 0.6 mm nozzle.
