Instrument
Piano
You press a key and the note is right. No other instrument makes the start this easy.
Tap the keys. Drag the piano to turn it. On a computer you can also play with your keyboard: ASDFGHJK.
Listen Alle meine Entchen, eight seconds. That is roughly how your child sounds after about three months.

Who it is for
Is this for you?
- From age 6
- The hand has to reach five white keys side by side. Most children manage that in their first school year. Younger than that: early musical education, from age 5.
- Starting out
- No previous knowledge. You do not need to read music. That comes later, and it comes along the way.
- After three months
- Both hands together, a simple tune with an accompaniment. Roughly what you hear in the sample above.
- Practising at home
- A keyboard with 61 keys and touch response is enough for the first year. A real piano can wait until after that, and we will tell you honestly when.
- Adults
- About a third of our piano pupils are over 30. Most of them start with one piece they really want to play.
Lessons
One to one, every week
We teach piano one to one only. With two people at one keyboard, one of them is always waiting.
Prices are per lesson. We bill monthly. There are no lessons during the Tyrolean school holidays and nothing is charged for them.
Teachers
Who you will sit with
Miriam Achleitner
Piano, early musical education
She has taught piano for eleven years, six of them at Tonleiter. With children she likes to start without written music and works with songs they already know. With adults she asks in the first minute which piece should be waiting at the end, and builds the lessons backwards from there.
Teaches Tuesday to Friday, afternoons and evenings.
The first lesson is there to try things out.
No reading music, no instrument of your own. You come, we play. Then you decide.
