Café Fundstück Tirol
Black-and-white-looking street photo: dark wooden tables and wrought-iron chairs on cobblestones, a hand-chalked blackboard, potted plants against old house fronts.

Find No. 018 · found photograph, origin unknown

This photo was hanging in the stairwell when we took over the building. We don't know which town it is, and we've stopped guessing. It hangs over our counter now, numbered like everything else. Our own terrace looks different — you'll see it when you're here.

What this is

We put this café together from flea-market finds. Every chair, every cup, every lamp has a number and a tag saying where it came from.

Breakfast until 14:00, cake for as long as it lasts.

Nothing here is new.
Except the coffee.

Roasted in Innsbruck, 400 g a week. The one thing we don't buy secondhand.

The Collection

Number 001 was a chair from Hall.

Seven euros, one wobbly leg, Jonas glued it in the cellar. We labelled it 001 and didn't stop. By now everything has a number: the tables, the clock, every single cup in the cupboard.

It isn't a concept — it was a lack of money. But it means we can answer any question you ask. Want to know where your plate came from? Ask. We wrote it down.
